Serving Billings and Surrounding Area

Big Sky Fiduciary is Jacob Troyer. I'm a Professional Fiduciary specializing in conservatorships and the administration of trusts and estates. Often, families prefer to name an experienced and objective individual as trustee or executor. They do this to avoid potential conflict among heirs/beneficiaries, or to simply remove the burden of administration from those they love. Others choose a professional fiduciary to avoid the high fees of corporate banks and trust companies. That's where I come in.

In 2004, while still a student at Rocky Mountain College, I founded JT Media Inc, a technology and logistics company based in Billings, MT. In 2022 I sold the company to the nation's 3rd largest textbook wholesaler. During this time, I served our community on various boards, through volunteerism, and through extensive business and personal mentoring. This heart for service naturally led to a desire to serve our state and community more formally.

Being a fiduciary requires duty of care, loyalty, good faith, confidentiality, prudence, disclosure, tact, empathy, objectivity, a high EQ, and the ability to make difficult, well-reasoned decisions. It's a high bar, but you should expect nothing less for the people you love and the assets you've earned.
